Description: Offered for your consideration is a fine, older Sabatier 8" forged chef's knife. This knife appears to have been a promotional and/or advertising piece commemorating the 50th anniversary of KitchenAid dishwashers in 1999. The knife was made in France and it's a very sturdy knife. It's also NSF certified for commercial and/or restaurant use. The knife has seen light use and remains in very nice condition with no problems at all. It has not been buffed or polished and remains original. This a very solid, sturdy knife with a highly versatile design that's well-suited for a wide range of common applications. The blade is free of any errant grinder marks or harsh sharpening abrasions and looks as though it was probably professionally sharpened one time. The etched blade markings remain fully visible and bold on both sides with great contrast against the bright finish. The blade has a slow taper and offers no flexibility. The edge is free of any nicks, chips, dings, or damage and remains very nice with just a bit of normal light wear. It remains somewhat sharp and the knife is ready for immediate use, although a few strokes on a good stone or hone would quickly have it razor sharp. The needle-sharp tip is intact and original with no blunting, burrs, or bending. The thick spine is free of any dings, dents, marring, or damage. The handle is of a dense, molded thermo-resin type material. It remains rock-solid and free of any chips, cracks, gouges, or damage with little wear. The surfaces are free of any bleaching, stains, or discoloration and it's even on both sides. The knife measures 12-3/4" in overall length. This knife would be great as an upgrade, replacement, or spare for someone with an old set. Of course, it would also be great as a stand-alone knife for anyone who appreciates fine French cutlery. A very nice, original example of this fine French knife!!
