Description: Complete in two volumes, this is "The History and Antiquities of the Deanery of Craven in the County of York," a classic of English history written by Thomas Dunham Whitaker. Originally published in 1878, it has been reprinted for scholars several times including this edition printed in 1978. This is No. 411 of a limited edition and it is scarce in this superb condition. The pages are clean and bright with NO BROWNING, no tears, no pen or pencil marks, no staining. (My photos appear to show some browning of the pages, but this is just a trick of the light.) It appears the two volumes have never been read. The chocolate brown leather bindings with gilt lettering are like new, and the dust jackets are great with just a hint of wear at the top and bottom of the spine. The books are filled with illustrations and a bunch of fold-out pages with heraldry and other information. The books are large and heavy, measuring 7" x 10 1/4 inches. Hence the $7.50 shipping price. Thanks for your bid.
