It comes in very nice condition as described above. This is a Unusual blackware piece of pottery by Santa Clara master potter Vickie Martinez. Its design features the Black Avanyu - Water Serpent, a favorite of Vickie's. What a masterful form and a great looking piece with that scarce High Handle! This piece is 8"x5" in Diameter. And is an accomplished Santa Clara Pueblo potter who makes elegant and stylish carved black and red pots. Vickie was influenced in her pottery development by her mother Barbara Martinez, her grandmother, Flora Naranjo, and by the great potters, Stella Chavarria and Teresita Naranjo. Vickie helped her daughter, Shaleene, develop her pottery skills. Vickie's pots sell quickly because of their high quality craftsmanship and the fair price points.
