Description: Belgium Model 1868 Engineers Sawback bayonet. Measures 23.75" overall with a blade length of 19". Very good looking blade showing gray/silver age patina, blade edge is excellent with no nicks or gouges. Ricasso marked, "1875" "HD" with a crown, opposite side marked, "GB" in a circle" and Rampant lion over a "C". Guard stamped, "V2290", two cartouches on the pommel end right side, same as ricasso's. Top of handle stamped "1054" along with what looks like an "L" on the top of blade spine. Excellent working press-stud. One of the better ones we have seen. No scabbard. This bayonet was for the Terssen carbine and is a very much sought after Pioneer version with a blade very comparable to the Large Engineer Bayonets of the same period.
