Using minimal, completely passive circuitry, it sums 8 or 16 balanced line inputs down to a single set of stereo mic-level outputs. Pair the SB2 with your favorite pair of mic preamps to add glue and color to your mixes. When compared to in-the-box mixing, these passive units add more depth, clarity and separation to your mixes. Providing an analog desk flavor to your mix, with improved sonic image. The 10k ohm resistor networks are Burns 2% tolerance thick film resistor networks, used on the standard build. The input channels are summed into 1/4 W 150 ohm metal film resistors. This product requires an 8ch cable snake with DB-25 connection for operation. In 2020 we tested the SB2 in the recording studio, the sound produced by this summing box is amazing! Zero latency and zero phase shift are a direct function of the fully passive signal path devoid of capacitors. The sonic image produced is large imparting analog flavor to your mix.
