Description: Sampson Bridgwood Hand Painted Floral Turquoise & Gold Pierced Plate C.1885 Nice English Staffordshire pierced porcelain plate. Decorated with nicely hand painted flowers in the center with pink, purple, yellow, blue and orange flowers. The border is decorated with turquoise panels and gold gilt highlights. Unmarked, but the shape matches another plate previously sold which was marked on the reverse with an anchor inside an oval over SB & Son. That mark was used by Sampson Bridgwood & Son in 1885. Has some wear to the gilding and two in manufacture firing separation to the reticulated edge, but otherwise good condition. Measures approximately 8 5/8 inches wide. This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not affect the display of the piece. FULW
