PLEASE Read a water-based, general purpose, inorganic-acid flux formulated for soldering stainless steel and other industrial metals. The flux contains Zinc Chloride and Hydrochloric Acid that make this flux active at room temperature where it begins to clean metals and remove oxides. The flux exerts a strong scavenging action to remove oxide coatings and other impurities from the metal surface to produce strong joints. Pre-cleaning is not necessary under most conditions. Ruby’s Stainless Flux is excellent for use on Stainless Steel, Monel, High-Chrome Alloys, Inconel, Nickel, Copper, Brass, Ferrous Alloys and many more metals. It is not recommended for Aluminum and Magnesium. Ruby’s Stainless Flux met with instant approval when introduced to fabricators, as well as manufacturers of stainless steel. The only flux I have found that actually works on stainless steel. If you buy this flux you won't regret about it. Tried the regular hardware store plumbing fluxes, none worked well, some not at all with stainless. This product is very good. Tried with a soldering iron didn't with a torch. I was soldering Stainless to Stainless for my still and this did the trick. Work great, and a little goes a long way. I love it! use this along with some silver solder and a good temp range and your in business for soldering stainless steel. Ruby Red is the way to go. I wish I had bought this when I tried that Stay-bright stuff because I made two failed attempts at the repair then ordered this stuff and it was like magic how smoothly the solder flowed and stuck to that stainless steel.
