Description: You will receive a packet of 25 Seeds from our Ruby Hibiscuses growing in sunny Florida. Home grown naturally using regenerative growing methods with lots of love and zero chemicals, pesticides, or synthetic fertilizers. The seeds are from our most recent harvest and are fresh viable seeds ready to sow. Growing Info & TipsRuby Hibiscus (hibiscus radiatus), also known as Monarch Rosemallow, is a very yummy & pretty addition to your garden. I adore the pop of color of the ruby red flower blooms in the fall. The leaves are delicious too with a slight lemon taste. It grows well in Zones 5-8 as an annual and Zones 9+ as a short lived perennial, sensitive to frost and will reseed itself. It is easy to grow thriving in poorer, dry soil & grows best in full sun. The beautiful ruby red flowers are day length sensitive, meaning that the flowers bloom as the days shorten towards fall. The leaves will also turn from green to a golden color in the late fall. Its can grow to about 4ft tall and easily that in width if not more, but is easily pruned to your liking. For Sowing the Ruby Hibiscus Seeds: Sow seeds after the chance of frost has past. Ideal germination temperature is in the 75-85 degree range. Seeds can be sown directly in the ground or in pots or seed starting trays. Sow the seeds around 1/2 of an inch deep in pre-moistened potting mix. Keep soil moist but well drained in partial shade until germination, when they can be gradually moved to full sun exposure. Seeds can take up to 14-21 days to germinate so be patient! It tends to grow slowly as a seedling in the spring, then quickly when the weatherโs hotter. Ideal spacing is 4-8ft apart. UsesThe leaves are yummy with a mild lemon flavor eaten raw in salads. I just love to incorporate them into our salad mix and green smoothies and juices. Ruby Hibiscus is also used as an herbal ally. Please do your own research before using & consuming. Please Note: All of my seeds are fresh and viable. Growing plants from seeds is fun! The majority of the time it is a success but sometimes itโs not. This just is the way it is with nature and gardening. I hope you experience success with all the seeds, however because I am not there to plant them, I cannot be responsible for germination failure due to improper planting or climate conditions etc. I do include a detailed note with planting advice with your order to help ensure your success.
