Description: This is a very pretty milk jug from Royal Newlands, Grimwades. It was made between 1906 and 1910--just after the company built its Newland Street factory in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent. It has the Newland stamp on the bottom. It is a rare shape; the company tended to go with fatter, rounder shapes for its jugs. This is also rare in that the floral design is more spare, and there's much more white space, compared with its chintzware. In addition, the front and back have two different floral designs. It is 7 1/8" high and 4" wide, plus a 1 1/2" arm.The gold has started to wear off on the rim and arm.It is otherwise pristine.
