Description: A beautiful collection of three hand painted Cabinet plates measuring 9 1/2”, 10”, and 12” across. They are in nearly perfect condition with no chips, cracks or crazing.These stunning plates are dated some time after the McKinley Tariff in 1891. The material which is a mixture of kaolin and petuntse clays. The decoration is hand painted and colored all with Biblical stories depicted by classical figures. The blue beehive mark is often mistakenly attributed to Royal Vienna, which is not a real company. There are quite a number of factories in Europe using a variation of the beehive mark on their wares. The style of these plates is attributed to Frank Dorfl, who were in business between 1892 - 1902.
