Description: Presented is a fancy hand-painted porcelain plate from Royal Vienna. This piece depicts a scene of the river nymph/naiad Cleone holding up a branch to a small child or putti in a forest scene, after the painting by 18th century Swiss Neoclassical painter Angelica Kauffman. The scene and decorative bands around the border are hand-painted and have many raised dotted details. On the right edge of the center scene is signed by “E. Heim”. The underside is marked with the Royal Vienna beehive mark from the late 1800s to early 1900s, as well as the title of the painting, Cleone. This piece is in great overall condition. A few of the raised dots of gilding around the border are missing. The plate also has a chip in the edge which is represented well in the photos. There are no other chips, no cracks, no crazing and no repairs. Plate Diameter: 9 1/2 inches -kc Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution
