Description: Royal Rudolstadt Cake Plate Cabbage Roses Pink Band w/Gold Beyer Bock 1905-1931 Exquisite Decorative CAKE PLATE, from Royal Rudolstadt of Beyer & Bock Rudolstadt, Thuringia, Germany, Hand Painted, BEAUTIFUL CABBAGE ROSES, Bold GOLD on EMBOSSED Rim & Handles, circa 1905-1931 DESCRIPTION: This features hand painted cabbage roses , buds and leaves with raised white highlights to give depth to the painting. The smooth & embossed rim is painted in bold gold as are the 2 reticulated handles. The wide, pink band next to the flat rim is so pretty. CONDITION: The condition of this decorative cake plate is superb. We can find no defects or damage. The gold on the rim appears to be as applied. There are no chips, nicks, cracks, rubbings, scratches or hairlines. Please refer to the photos to see how classically beautiful this is. DIMENSIONS: The beautiful, decorative cake plate is 12" handle to handle with a diameter of 11 1/8" and a height of 1 5/16". HISTORY/MARKS: Beyer & Bock existed from 1853-1931 and was started as a porcelain decorating shop. The company began porcelain production in 1890. Volkstedt has been a part of the town of Rudolstadt, Thuringia, Germany since 1923. The Royal Rudolstadt registration was obtained by Beyer & Bock and appears to have been used until the company was sold in 1929 to Edelstein & Zehe A.G. and production ceased. When reorganized and production resumed, the Beyer & Bock mark was used with the company continuing in some form to as late as 1990. The mark on this is identified by Robert Rontgen's Marks on German, Bohemian and Austrian Porcelain 1710 to the Present as mark #722 with the addition of hand painted which was used 1905-1931.
