Thank you for supporting artists! 🌴🌴🌴 ABOUT THE ARTIST Kristi Cavett Jones was raised by artistic parents, both having art degrees. Her father has placed (numerous times) in the top tenth percentile in state and federal duck stamp art contests, and her mother has sold work at a local gallery. At age 12, Kristi’s art was published in a local newspaper ad for Selber Brothers Department Store after winning a drawing contest. She served as President of the Art Club her senior year of high school. Kristi studied art at the New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts (NOAFA), and is also self-taught. Her mentors were Jackie Caskie Guillot and Jasmine Morelock Field. Kristi has sold work at local shows and galleries, and has exhibited in shows in New Orleans and in northwest Caddo Parish, including Centenary College's Meadows Museum of Art, Magale Library, and Artspace and the Bailey Gallery in downtown Shreveport. She has also exhibited at the prestigious Louisiana State Exhibit Museum. In 2011, she was awarded a visual arts grant from the Shreveport Regional Arts Council (SRAC). In 2015, she was commissioned to create 29 paintings for the new University Medical Center in New Orleans. Her artwork was chosen for the 20th and 25th posters for the Sunflower Festival and Trail held annually in Gilliam, Louisiana. She is a member of Louisiana Artists Inc and the Hoover Watercolor Society. Her art is collected nationally and internationally.
