The three stainless anti-vibration bolts secure the two pulley halves together, and the pulley acts as a single unit - this ends the possibility of wear between the pulley halves that is common in other designs. The large, 36mm securing "Big Nut" is custom made from 17-4PH stainless steel that has 5x the yield strength and 2x the tensile strength of 300 series stainless steel. Crank PulleyLet's face it - the billet aluminum crank pulley for Volkswagen Type 1 has been around for quite awhile, and the results have been mixed. Too many of the offerings are a poor copy of a poor copy, and the results can be disastrous for your engine. Rarely are the pulleys designed for the late model Super Beetle 11.3x912 alternator belt, and the belts bulge, slip, and throw. This probably gave rise to the horsepower robbing serpentine systems that are now out there wreaking havoc on crank and alternator bearings. The Ross Wulf pulley fits late, wide belts perfectly with no slop and no bulge. This pulley features a minimum markings package - 40 degree scale and markings at the 90's only.
