The map focuses on the History and recreational opportunities in the region, extending from the Selkirk and Purcell Mountains on the Canadian Border, to the Coeur d'Alene area. The Lakes are numbered and noted. It shows 121 lakes, along with their names, from the region on left side of the poster. The top right of the map is dedicated to a lengthy note on the history of the region, dating back to David Thompson, in 1809 and various sites noted throughout with illustrations. Some of the Towns that are mentioned include: Coeur d' Alene, Sandpoint, Morrison, Kellogg, Moyie Springs, Troy, Libby, and Eureka. Around the border are the names of fishes, trees, animals and boats. A number of skiers highlight the alpine and cross country ski areas. The 1965 Girl Scout Roundup and 1967 Boy Scout Jamboree location at Farragut National Park are also noted. It is 21.5 x 17 inches in size This original 1966 map is unframed and the condition is excellent with no flaws noted.
