Ronald Reagan Presidential Library Air Force One Boeing 707 Jet Baseball Hat Cap

Description: Ronald Reagan Presidential Library Air Force One Boeing 707 Jet Baseball Hat Cap MADE IN THE USA!!!!! Made in the USA for the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, CA, this is an adjustable baseball/golf cap commemorating the Boeing 707 VC-137 Special Air Mission SAM27000 that used the call sign Air Force One from December 1972 to August 29, 2001. Following that last flight, it was formally decommissioned, then flown to San Bernadino International Airport in California where it was dismantled by Boeing and taken to the Ronald Reagan presidential Library in Simi Valley, where it was reassembled, restored to museum quality, and put on permanent display in what was called "Operation Homeward Bound". The hat is tan and is embroidered with the logo of the Ronald Reagan Presidential library on the front of the hat. It is an unconstructed six panel hat with precurved bill and adjustable brass slide back. This particular style hat is retired and no longer available at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library. This is the Air Force One that flew President Reagan over 660,000 miles to 26 foreign countries and 46 US States. This flying "White House", tail number 27000, served seven US presidents from 1972 to 2001 including presidents Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, GHW Bush, Clintonn and GW Bush. For Ronald Reagan, this was the plane in which he hand wrote many of his speeches, signed important legislation, and even officially started the Daytona Beach Florida NASCAR race via phone. Air Force One 27000 is on loan from the United States Air Force. George HW Bush was the last president to utilize SAM 27000 as the primary means of presidential travel. In 1990, the plane was replaced by two Boeing 747-200B jumbo jets, designated VC-25, although SAM 27000 was kept as a backup plane for Bush during the remainder of his presidency, as well as those of Bill Clinton and George W. Bush. When former President Richard Nixon died on April 22, 1994 in New York City, SAM 27000 brought his body to the Marine Corps Air Station El Toro in Orange County, California four days later. His body was then taken to the Richard Nixon Library and Museum to lay in state before a funeral service and burial. Its last Presidential voyage was August 29, 2001, when it delivered George W. Bush and Laura Bush to their Prairie Chapel Ranch. Don't miss out on a chance to own this great cap commemorating Air Force One, SAM27000, and the 40th President of the United States.
