Description: This is a rare single page advertising handbill (flyer) promoting ticket sales for the three-week, National Tour engagement of the RICHARD RODGERS and OSCAR HAMMERSTEIN II musical comedy "OKLAHOMA!" at the Curran Theatre in San Francisco, California beginning December 18th, 1949. (The Original Broadway production opened March 31st, 1943 at the St. James Theatre and ran for 2212 performances, becoming at the time the longest running musical in Broadway history.) ..... The Original Broadway Cast of "OKLAHOMA!" included ALFRED DRAKE, JOAN ROBERTS, BETTY GARDE, HOWARD da SILVA and CELESTE HOLM. (Note: No cast members are mentioned by name in the text of the handbill.) ..... CONDITION: With the exception of several tiny edge tears on the right side and at the bottom and minor surface rubbing to the backside, this rare handbill is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any musical theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
