This lot includes a handwritten letter from Marciano's manager Al Weil to Guy Peluso, in which Weil asks Peluso to "stop making or selling anything pertaining to Rocky Marciano immediately." Written on stationery from the Dayton Biltmore hotel and dated Oct. 14th, 1954, the letter is signed by Weil at the bottom, "Al Weil / Mgr. of Rocky Marciano." The envelope this letter came in, with Peluso's address handwritten by Weil, is also included. In addition, this lot includes another (more friendly) letter from Weil to Peluso written on Al Weil's professional stationery, in which Weil discusses tickets for an upcoming Marciano bout (likely the June 17th, 1954 fight against Ezzard Charles). This letter, dated June 1, 1954, is typed but signed by Weil at the bottom. The envelope this letter was sent in, which includes Weil's return address (typed) on the back, is also included, as well as an additional handwritten note related to procuring tickets and signed by someone named "Vincent." Both letters are in excellent condition with no rips or paper loss and only minor discoloration due to aging. Both envelopes were opened with a letter opener with only the top being opened/ripped, and are otherwise intact and free from major damage.
