Description: ROBERT MONTGOMERY LEEDS UNITED 1938 - 1939 RESERVE TEAM PLAYERROBERT WAS BORN IN ASTON IN 1922. HE PLAYED FOR PORTADOWN BEFORE SIGNING FOR LEEDS UNITED IN 1938, AGED JUST 16. HE MADE FOUR RESERVE APPEARANCES FOR THE CLUB BUT DID NOT MAKE THE FIRST TEAM. HE MOVED TO COVENTRY CITY 1939 - 1940 AS A WARTIME GUEST PLAYER. DURING THE SECOND WORLD WAR, HE JOINED THE LANCASTER BOMBERS WITH THE 49th SQUADRON AT FISKERTON, NEAR LINCOLN. HE WAS APPOINTED A SERGEANT PILOT. TRAGICALLY ROBERT WAS KILLED IN ACTION OVER GERMANY IN 1944, AGED JUST 22.EXTREMELY RARE ORIGINAL HAND SIGNED CUTTING/CARD SIGNATURE ON CUTTING IS VERY GOOD (PLEASE NOTE WE ALWAYS OFFER A FULL REFUND IF YOU ARE NOT HAPPY WITH YOUR PURCHASE) Robert Montgomery Leeds United Reserve Team Player 1938-39. This Signed Cutting has come from our Collection and we have included a Crested Card. Robert has Hand Signed this in Pencil and it was Signed at the time. A Very Good Prominent Signature which looks a lot better than the scan suggests. This would look Excellent if Framed. Very sadly Robert was killed in action in 1944, aged just 22. If it is just an Autograph or the Picture is small then I have mounted it on a Crested Card and it comes with a Free player glossary and a Free picture if I have one available for that particular player.
