Description: This is a 1 of 1 Richard Black cue that was specifically made for 3-Cushion Billiards, its the only one ever made like this and take note of the joint pin, most if not almost all Richard Black cues are w/ the standard 5/16" x 14 S/S joint, well this cue's joint pin is 3/8" x 10, and almost 2 inches in length! The cue was made for Sid Banner, who is he? He was a very formidable 3-Cushion player, a pool room owner, a hustler, a legend here in South FL, he played among the likes of Sang Lee, Raymond Ceulemans, Torbjorn Blomdahl, Dick Jaspers, etc. He also opened up a very big successfull poolroom here in Boca Raton, FL called Boca Billiards which housed 21 Gold Crowns, and if I remember correctly 4 heated 3-Cushion tables as well. He was the first to bring heated tables to FL. Here is a link that gives a little more info on Mr. Banner https://www.professorqball.com/2015/09/sid-banner-who-passed-away-recently-at-the-age-of-89/ So in the early 80's Sid had contacted Richard Black to make a 3-Cushion cue, RB told him "I don't do those, not interested" and after many numerous attempts, Richard Black continued to say "NO". Around 1986 Sids 3-Cushion status was becoming well known and continued insisting for a cue. Black finally agreed and Sid had also taken advantage to have him also make a very decorative pool cue for his son in conjunction as a gift, nonetheless Richard Black made the 1st and only 3-Cushion cue for Sid Banner, signed & dated accordingly. In the 90's, Sid had a extra shaft made by Bob Manzino also here in South FL, for pool, by the looks of it, he never used the pool shaft. In addition, Sid was a really tall guy, so Richard Black made the butt at 29.75", as it is, 3-Cushion cues are generally 55"/56" in total length, this cue was 59" for 3-cushion. The butt is straight and so are both shafts, roll straight together and apart, not bad since its only 34 years old. Weigh In: Butt 15.71oz.3-C Shaft 3.91 oz. 11.5 mmPool Shaft 3.49 oz. 12.1 mm This Richard Black cue truly is Rare and the only one in existence like it, if you have any questions feel free to contact me accordingly, cue is located in South FL, and are more then welcome to see it in person. Please contact me for any questions, there is alot of history on this cue that is not stated here. Thank you for your interest.
