Furthermore, this cable type is approved for direct burial. The cable consists of a stranded inner conductor composed of tinned copper wire, which is then surrounded by a polyethylene dielectric tube. Outside the dielectric is a shield, which is also made of tinned copper. Covering all of this is a black, non-contaminating PVC jacket for additional physical protection.
