Description: LIVING ESTATE SALE (Details at the end of description) MM/AI For your consideration is a Weeden 14 Live Steam engine made in the USA in the 1930s.The Number 14, manufactured from the late 1800's up to 1940, was Weeden's most popular engine. It has a six legged table style cast iron frame, a design shared with two other similar electrically heated models, the No.647 and No.648. The No.14's distinctive boiler, with the four rows of rivets, is heated with a rectangular shaped three wick burner. The engine may be reversed simply by stopping it and flipping the flywheel in the other direction.This is a completely restored engine that really looks good but it's probably better used as a static display. It has been air tested (video) and ran fine with 18 psi.The knot on the governor belt is a bit too big and slows down the motion.The antique is complete, except for the original box that is missing.Most parts are original but the burner tray is a very well made replica. So, you might want to decide to fire it up, against my recommendation. You would need some denatured alcohol.But let's face it, it would be a bit like asking a centenarian to run a marathon.But what a piece of history to display on your desk !...
