(See Pic 1 for packing details of this kit) This radio is a well known, well loved and much sought after all-band receiver, yet most units you find today suffer leaking or dried out electrolytic capacitors that make audio very weak or none. To replace these capacitors is no easy job because SMD typeelectrolytic capacitors are difficult to handle by standard tools and particularly so when the working space is limited. Quite often PCB's are ripped off or torn, and from time to time new parts themselves are damaged when soldiering.My tantalum kit makes recapping job painless and stress free. Besides, tantalum capacitors are known for being far more accurate in value and they easily outlive capacitors of any other kind. Truly guaranteed for life! The result is a more efficient and way more reliable job neatly done! This kit includes all the parts and components you need towards a complete restoration: 25 Tantalum capacitors to replace all the old SMD electrolytic capacitors, matching precisely the values, voltage ratings (equal or higher ) and even the various sizes of the spots they need to fill in. 1 farad capacitor for data backup. It functions to keep all the tuning data and programming settings from getting lost when the radio losses power or when batteries are taken out to be replaced. 1 LED with matching current limiting resistor: 390Ω--1KΩ . New LED matches the colour temperature of the original one, yet 5-8 times brighter with much reduced power consumption. We strongly recommend replacing the old farad capacitor and the LED on board the same time you replace the old SMD electrolytic capacitors, simply for the best results.
