Description: Model: We consider REE MODELES to be one of the finest producers of model trains on the market today, they have positioned themselves as the leader in French model trains. The PLM 141 "Mikado" is a truly remarkable model. The model is highly detailed, constructed with over 500 intricate parts, and best of all, it is "ALL METAL". The class 141 model comes equipped with a number of innovations including DCC synchronized cylinder smoke and sound. The Locomotive actually blows smoke from the cylinders and the smoke stack, which is synchronized with the sound and speed of the locomotive. Model features prototypical ‘daylight’ between the boiler and chassis, high quality paint finish, crisp lettering, inset windows, brake shoes between the wheels, and full cab interiors with illumination. Mechanically, the model is excellent because it has a fully functional, finely detailed, metal valve gear and powerful 5 pole motor with flywheels mounted in the locomotive. Powered by four axles, the combination of the high-quality motor and gears, gives this model smooth running characteristics, and excellent performance. Ree uses ESU 4.0 sound decoders and prototypical LED lights, which are coordinated with the direction of travel. Model comes with NEM 362 close coupler pockets. Four HO versions are available in both analog, 2-Rail DC, Marklin 3-Rail AC or with Digital SOUND and Synchronized cylinder SMOKE. In 1919, several French locomotive manufactures were commissioned to build such a locomotive. A 2-8-2 "Mikado" was developed, which was classified by the PLM as the 141C. After many trial runs, the PLM was satisfied with the performance and power of these new locomotives. From 1919 to 1934, six hundred and eight locomotives were built, most of which were manufactured in France by Schneider, SFCM Cail, Fives-Lille and Blanc-Misseron, in addition to 20 made by SLM Winterhur in Switzerland. On January 1st, 1938, the 141C's were integrated into the SNCF. Between 1942 and 1957 the class 141C's were reconstructed, resulting in three additional classes the 141D, 141E and 141F. One hundred and twenty-four 141D's were developed, and fitted with boiler feed water heaters, which were arranged laterally along the boiler. Two hundred and fifty-four 141E's were also developed, and fitted with large oval "Giesl" smoke stacks and small wind deflectors. Finally, one hundred and ninety-five 141F's were fitted with a new chassis and front bissel. The 141F's were the fastest in the group, reaching a top speed of 105 km/h. The class 141's were well respected, and operated in the majority of depots in the Sud-Est and MÈditerranÈe SNCF regions. From 1951, they were also found in the Sud-Ouest region at MontluÁon, PÈrigueux and Capdenac depots. They served the MÈditerranÈe region until 1965, Sud-Est region until 1966 and the Sud-Ouest region until 1969.
