He is heard either with a quartet, also including pianist Hank Jones, bassist Milt Hinton, and drummer Jo Jones, or a quintet with pianist Jimmie Rowles, bassist Gene Cherico, drummer Donald Bailey, and guitarist Lloyd Ellis.
