About Ray Gun:Ray Gun magazine is remembered for the radical, often experimental approach to graphic design taken by art director David Carson. Every issue broke new ground by employing unorthodox layouts, deconstructed typography and abstract imagery. Bodies of text were inverted, reflected, dissected and scattered; photos and images were deliberately blurred or cropped or made obscure in other ways. By ignoring the rules and conventions of design the magazine quickly earned a reputation for its cutting edge visual style, and today - nearly 25 years after the final issue was published - the enduring influence of Ray Gun can be seen all over the place. If you've never seen it before, even a quick flick through Ray Gun will convince you that it's one of the coolest magazines ever published. Condition of this copy:This magazine is in 'acceptable' condition. All pages are present and intact, including the subscription postcard. There are however some visible signs of age and handling. The spine is quite worn in places and there are some small stress creases running alongside the spine, more in evidence on the front and back covers, but also visible on close inspection in the first and last few inside pages. There is also a small (approx 7mm) abrasion tear on the spine. Elsewhere, the edges and corners of the magazine's pages have both wear and creasing from handling, again more prominent on the front and back covers. The back cover also has a patch of beige coloured residue, possibly adhesive from a sticker, covering a 6 x 4cm area approximately. The are other minor scuffs, dings and marks visible on inspection. The inside pages are in relatively good condition, remaining fairly smooth and unmarked, albeit with some discolouration of the paper, which is consistent with the magazine's age.
