Although I still believe this hat to be a Chicago Cubs player's cap with the sewn on felt "C" I cant confirm this. Regardless I've dropped the starting bid price and let buyers decide. Thank you Hello, I believe this hat was once worn on the field by the players of the Chicago cubs between 1954-64. Although I can't prove this, the research I've done suggests that it's very likely. The hat features a white felt stitched on "C", which is an older style before the team adopted the new wishbone style C and embroidered logos in general. As for the color, they did experiment with this color solid dark red. Along with navy, stone gray and beige. The hat itself is in overall good condition for its age, It has some damage, a few small holes, frayed edges and worn insides, but still holding up well. Certainly adds to the character of the hat and endurement of the players. Brand is a Wilson size 7 1/4, The fabric is thick gauge possibly a wool blend. Please see photos for exact condition.
