Description: VINTAGE, one of a kind Bakelite brooch appears to have been hand carved. Abstract, decorated figure of what is perhaps an adorned animal head. Similar to images of an Aztec God as Bakelite pieces with Southwestern themes were popular. Measures 2" tall by 3" across with a thickness of 1/2" in some places. Caramel to orange in color with red mouth and white eye and teeth. Eye and mouth appear to have been glued on. Representation of six feathers on head. String streamers on head are missing portions of their black plastic coverings. Decorated with five small metal tacks and a metal flower ornament. Simple silver-colored pin with glue residue on back. Condition is good considering the advanced age of this item. Rare, unusual, one of a kind piece of Bakelite jewelry.
