Description: A wonderful antique Victorian, hand carved bog oak page turner/letter opener, c1880. The handle is superbly carved with a harp to the top and embossed shamrocks underneath, against a textured background and with raised borders. The same level of detail has been worked to both sides, a stunning example of the artistry of the time. Measurements: 294mm by 28mm (at widest point) or 11.5" by 1.1". In good antique condition; elongated narrow chip to one side of 'knife' and light chipping to curved end point (see last 2 images for clear detail).
