These Organic, Non-GMO Seeds Grow Large, Beautiful White Tulip-Shaped Peshawar Poppy Flowers. Limited Supply. US Seller, Fast Shipping. There are 3,300 seeds in one gram of poppy. You will receive 1.6 grams (5,200+) seeds with every order. Given room and fertile, well-drained soil, each plant will create several long, slender stems, each holding a 3 to 6 inch beautiful white flower. Ass the petals fall, they reveal large pods filled with white seeds. This is a historic variety from the Peshawar region of Pakistan. Like other somniferum poppies, these need cool soil and plenty of light for germination. Prepare a bed with good fertility and fine texture. Tamp the surface, scatter the seed, and rake in very lightly. Thin to 18"-24" apart; crowded plants will be stunted, so allow adequate space. Crinkled satin petals cup around a golden crown, with new flowers opening every day in early summer. The urn-shaped seed pods, the star of many a dried flower bouquet, have ample quantities of white seeds rattling around inside. How To Grow Poppy: Plant poppy seeds in fall or late spring / early summer after frost. Most poppies require a period of stratification - these seeds have already been stratified. Soak seeds in water for 24 hours. Select a sunny spot with well draining, sandy type soil. Scatter seeds and very gently rake to distribute. Cover with no more than 1/16" of soil. Mist the soil whenever it appears dry. Germination occurs in 7-20 days. Reduce frequency of irrigation once poppies reach 2-3” high as they do not like damp growing conditions. Do not plant in really hot weather. These seeds DO NOT like to germinate in Mid-Summer like weather, the best planting times being Fall-thru-late Spring. Poppies do not do well as transplants. The intended use of these seeds is for planting. FDA Disclaimer: This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
