Description: RARE PAIR OF ANTIQUE AMERICAN PORTRAITS HUSBAND & WIFE 32.5" x 40.25" FRAMED CIRCA 1830's Framed : 32.5" x 40.25" Sight: 28" x 36" Condition: Very good. This pair is great with the same couch used in the sitting. From upstate NY. (late Federal , early Victorian) on a late classical sofa. Unsigned pair. Both lined, having been placed in later stretchers. The embossed tin frames are period and original to these paintings. The male canvas has a slight rise in the upper right hand corner as facing the portrait. Not serious, but could be stretched. The stretcher on that same painting does not sit perfectly centered in the frame as it is. Both frames show minor losses and imperfection based on age.
