Description: Original Czech Meopta ZF39 sniper scope.During the German occupation of Czechoslovakia for WW2, the Czech's produced many K98 rifles as well as various scopes (dow production code) and sniper scopes for the German Military. At the conclusion of the war, Czechoslovakia continued producing K98 rifles as well as various military optics (now under the new name Meopta) for their rifles. This post war production scope is identical to the war-time Czech ZF39 with only difference being the markings.Based on the markings, the scope was produced between 1946 to 1949 (by the early 50's the Czech K98 sniper was being phased for the new VZ54 sniper, now that Czechoslovakia was part of the Warsaw pact). The scope markings follow the same format (magnification & field of view) as the Czech Meopta ZF4 (as used on their G43 rifles). This particular scope was maker marked "Meopta" and "4x 6º" for 4x magnification and 6º field of view respectively. Overall the scope rates in good to very good used condition; there is mostly just finish wear and some minor marks to the body of the scope (please see photos for additional detail). The optics are in very good condition; the sight picture is clear and sharp; there are some minor light marks on the lenses from cleaning as pictured that do not appear to affect the image quality. Both of the adjustments have been tested and function properly.Includes the original factory Czech K98 scope mounts. Extremely rare optic. Thanks for looking.
