Description: This Reuge Swiss music box was part of an estate and we do not know how it was acquired. All of the components are in working order and the two pairs of dancers all work and are still brightly costumed. The magic mirror (with the light off, it looks like a wall mirror, but turn on the light and you have an enchanting scene of two pairs of dancers, in their finery, gliding across the herringbone floor). The mirror/glass has some clouding (needs cleaning?) but with the light on, the dancers are in full sight and it doesn't take away from the magic. The music box is clear and plays two tunes (listed below). It has two buttons on the side, one to light the inside of the box, one to activate the music box and engage the dancers in their routine. On the front of the gold leafed frame is a small plaque "Danseaurs 1755" On the bottom of the unit, are a few labels with voltage, name of the tunes and indicates 2/50: Minuet - MozartSerenade - Haydn Challenging to photograph with all of the mirrors and clutter in the background, but this is a lovely piece for a collector and priced to sell.
