The scene is Chateau de Montresor, It is one of his extra urban scenes which are usually subdued in coloration, grays, blues, creams, browns, and touches of a soft red. The scene is of tlarge chateau and its surrounding village, plus a lovely reflection of all buildings in the surrounding water. There is a cubist feel to the way that the buildings are painted. There is a man in a rowboat near the bottom left of the picture. This is one of a triplex of extra urban scenes that we will be listing separately. There is a final photo showing them all together but each listing is selling one only. They all have the same numerical identification, 82/200 written in Roman numerals, and they all are signed by Michel Delacroix. They were purchased together and they all have the typical bluish gray coloration that his ex-urban scenes have. They are extremely restful to the eye. These non Paris scenes are rare to find and a lovely alternative to his more usual art pieces. This lithograph is beautifully framed in heavy gold and it is triple matted to emphasize the color palette. The framing is in surprisingly fine condition.
