Description: This rare, stunning Faberg egg is just dripping in gold. The heavy gilt shell made by Limoges features a design with the year of production, 2003, and the year 1703 on reverse, the year Saint Petersburg was founded. The words "Saint Petersburg" encompass the bottom. It opens to a golden miniature of the bronze statue of Peter the Great in the square that was commissioned by Catherine the great in 1782. I found this special piece tucked away in a cupboard at an estate sale with many high-end pieces. I don't believe it has ever been taken out of it's box. Is in absolutely pristine condition! The egg measures 2-3/4" tall. Signed "Tatiana Faberg" on the bottom circling the mark "Faberg Fait main Limoges France" Inside the egg you will see More markings, "Faberge" with various hallmarks and "no. 059" I can't seem to find any information on this actual piece, but it is safe to assume over 100 were made in 2003. Tatiana Faberg is the granddaughter of Carl Faberg and has recently passed away in 2020.
