Apocrypha and Psalms in Metre. Dr William Smith's Standard Bible Dictionary including a comprehensive and critical description of the tabernacle and it's furniture, together with an account of the priesthood and the worship and sacrifices of the Israelites. Over 2500 illustrations including steel and wood engravings and several colored lithos. Book contains photo album area which has damage included tears. No photos. Book contains family records area which has been used and appears to be from the Evans/Smith family. Heavy stamped and embossed board ends have wear and some chipping. Gilded spine is worn and has heavy chipping and flaking mostly to ends. Front board is separating from binding and has a tape repair between board and inside dust page. This includes the first few pages with one page loose from binding, but present and in good condition. Back board is starting to separated and has splitting along spine and board end. This has also been tape repaired between back cover board and dust page. Binding solid with the exception of first few pages which are starting to come loose with front cover. Gild edged pages are tanned with age and some have dog earring and mild edge wear, a few corner folds possible. Some have some spotting, but overall pages are in very good condition. Edge gilding has some wear. 12.5 x 10.5 x 4.5 inches, heavy. Heavily illustrated, especially in the "dictionary" portion of the Bible, full page engravings, litho prints, and colored maps. Beautiful uncommon Victorian family table Bible which displays well even with damage.
