Description: Hi all! This is a HUGE rare tooth from Globidens, a shell crushing Mosasaur from the late Cretaceous of Morocco! Mosasaurs are huge carnivorous marine reptiles that lived alongside dinosaurs from 101 to 66 million years ago. Some approached 60 feet (18 meters) in length! They aren't dinosaurs but are close relatives of snakes and lizards. Globidens was a medium size Mosasaur reaching roughly 20 feet (6 meters) in length. There are several different species all of which had the same unique trait, round and thick teeth presumably for crushing shellfish. The tooth measures a 1.17 inches (2.97 cm) which is HUGE for a Globidens tooth! It also has a partial root and no repair or restoration! All of my items come with a Certificate of Authenticity!
