Description: Spectacular, rare Heywood Wakefield "Old Colony" solid maple twin bed headboard and footboard from the late 1930s/1940. In its early years, Heywood-Wakefield did not use its stamped eagle logo, which first appeared in 1949. Initially, the company attached a paper identification logo to its furniture, which was also stamped with numbers - you can see the numerical stamp in one of the photos, but the paper tag is long gone. See the catalog from 1940 featuring the twin head- and footboard on the cover. (I own the whole bedroom set, which has other identifying marks authenticating the furniture as Heywood Wakefield. This listing sale is for the head- and footboard only). In remarkable vintage condition, with only one small chip on groove of footboard (see last photo). No side rails are included in the sale, but can be acquired to accommodate the head- and footboards. Note on photos: The third (headboard) and fourth (footboard) photos show the parts of the bed that are exterior-facing (visible upon entry to the bedroom vs the interior shots where the rails secure the headboard to the footboard).Measurements:Headboard height: 39.5 inches Width: 41.5 inchesFootboard height: 26 inches Width: 41.5 inchesPlease use photos as part of the description (I am happy to shoot others upon request).
