Co., The American, Cast Iron No 7 Waffle Iron, Model 788, Pat 1880, Pat 1893 Condition: This No. 7 Griswold waffle iron set is rare and it is in pristine collectors condition. Beautifully cleaned and seasoned, the waffle grid patterns are perfect. The hardwood handles were replaced of course, but all cast iron elements are here. The waffle iron base is in excellent condition as well. No. 7 waffle irons are not common. Very rare and antique set of cast iron # 7 “The American” Griswold waffle irons and base ring made by Griswold and marked as seen in the pictures. The waffle irons have Patent dates of June 29, 1880 and July 25, 1893 and the base ring has no markings. The No. 7 waffle irons from this period are very hard to find in any condition. The first 1880 patent is actually a Selden & Griswold patent.
