Description: A very clean example of the rare 18 inch size. Patented March 19, 1889 by Alvan B. Ewing of Lewisburg, Tenn. Ewing was born in 1819, which means he was 70 when granted his patent. In the 1860 census, Ewing was listed as a silversmith. Excellent condition.
