Description: Very Rare Large 8" Long, Heavy Hand Molded Colonial Pewter Spoon, c.1770 DESCRIPTION: Scans show it all.....large 8" antique early American colonial pewter spoon. Hand molded with hot, liquid pewter in early 2-Piece brass mold, then hand worked and trimmed. This was obviously hand made. MOLD SEAMS VISIBLE ALONG THE EDGES. Can be used as a functional item or as a nice antique decorative item. It is an extremely early spoon, dating from c1770. Colonial, Revolutionary War period. Nice, VERY DEEP, CURVED BOWL as shown, almost 3" long x 1 5/8" wide. A nice addition to any early American antique collection, for decoration on a wall or especially, to display with a period colonial pewter plate, or even to use!!! Early spoons are very scarce pewter accessory item. WILL LOOK GREAT AS A DISPLAY WITH AN EARLY PEWTER PLATE!! In excellent condition overall with nice aged patina.
