Königsberg or Kaliningrad (Russia), 2.I.1919 -Berlin(Germany), 3.VII.1979. Duchess of Segovia. Charlotte Louise Auguste Tiedemann, daughter of Otto Eugen Tiedemann, who is said to have been an engineer, and his wife, Luisa Amalia Klein, was born in the Prussian city of Königsberg (Kaliningrad) on January 2, 1919. She worked as a singer and as actress, knowing her secondary participation in a 1943 film titled Titanic . After a first marriage with a man named Buchler and, later, with another named Hippler, by whom she had a daughter named Helga, Charlotte contracted a civil marriage in Innsbruck (Austria), on August 3, 1949, with the infant Don Jaime ( 1908-1975), Duke of Segovia and Anjou, previously divorced from his first wife, Emanuela de Dampierre. No descendants of this union remained, although, sometimes, Charlotte's daughter, Helga Hippler, made herself surname Bourbon, without any official record that she was adopted or recognized by the infant Don Jaime. The infant insisted on different occasions that his second wife be recognized for the use of the titles held by him of Duke of Segovia (granted by his father, Alfonso XIII, already in exile) and of Duke of Anjou (in his capacity as boss home Real from France), but the family Real of Spain, headed by the widowed queen, Victoria Eugenia, and the Count of Barcelona, refused to recognize the validity of Charlotte's civil marriage with Don Jaime, which was the source of innumerable family conflicts.
