Description: RARE Dow Jones Wall Street Journal Stock Exchange Ticker Tape Clipboard This vintage 1940s clipboard was originally used with the Dow Jones ticker tape machines, with brokers using them to hold the ticker tape from the "broad" tape machines utilizing 5 inch wide tape. The machine would have a hook on the front from which the clipboard would hang via a hole on the back of the brass clip. Brass clip marked Dow, Jones & Co Wall Street Journal on a wood board with lovely grain pattern measuring 17 3/4 inches long and 5 3/4 inches wide. Green felt on back, clip has two 1/2 inch spikes to secure ticker tape in place. Excellent vintage condition, flat and very functional, some surface patina appropriate to age.
