Description: Rare antique C. Plath three circle "Dreikreis" model brass sextant made in Hamburg, Germany in the early 1900s. Sextant displays the SN6194 with the "S" below. The company maker's mark logo "Sun Shooter" is seen below on the limb. The original wood case stamped with SN6194 has brass hardware, but is missing the center escutcheon and key. A crack in the case appears to have been repaired. Accessories include, as pictured, three eye pieces, and small pic. Knobs and arms turn, optics appear clear, but am uncertain of functionality. Acquired from university setting. 12" x 12" x 6" 10lbs.
