Description: Softbound, 8vo (6" x 9"), book in very good condition, written by the Rev. P. H. Gagneau, S. M. and published in 1963 by Keystone Press, Atlanta, Georgia. A Rare Book - not available online and held by only two libraries world-wide. It has been over 150 years since the Marist Fathers came to this country and established their foundation in Louisiana. This book contains 98 pages and 6 chapters, each chapter covers a Marist Fathers location, including Jefferson College in Louisiana and Marist College in Atlanta, Georgia. This book appears to have been located in the Marist College Library in Louisiana until it was given to the previous owner, Lillian Dornier by Rev. Frances Georgelin, S. M. in 1951 (see photo of inscription page). The date of the inscription is rather surprising since the book wasn't published until 1963 ( perhaps I am just missing a logical explanation here). The Inscription is on the last page of the book. The Marist Library Stamp appears 3 times and each stamp has been blackened by a mark-a-lot. Perhaps the blackened stamp actually was that of the Holy Name of Mary School Library in Algiers, La. where Rev, Georgelin served as Asst. Pastor beginning in 1938 and continued there for decades.
