Description: This listing is for a rare antique violin This violin is a full 4/4 size It was made by renowned violin maker, Robert Glier. Glier was born in Markneukirchen, Germany in 1855 and immigrated to Northern Kentucky/Cincinnati, Ohio around 1883. Glier began making violins shorty after settling. His craftsmanship was of such high quality that it became internationally known. Wurlitzer took note of his work and by the early 1900s, his violins were being sold through the Wurlitzer catalog. This is a very rare model as it is a very early piece, dating to 1886. It is marked as No.269. This means that this was the 269th violin made by Glier. This violin is of high quality, boasting a one piece back The violin does show signs of normal wear and age. However, it still has a very beautiful sound and tone.
