Rare Antique SKOOKUM Doll NATIVE AMERICAN Baby in Cradleboard WONDERFUL

Description: This antique Skookum doll is a wonderful addition to any collection of Native American Art, Antiques, or collectibles, as well as collectors of antique dolls and artist dolls. The doll in its cradle board was Handmade in the United States in approximately 1924. This 12-inch cradleboard doll features a medium dark complexion and black straight original mohair hair. The doll is wrapped in a blanket and is within a “cradleboard” bunting. The cradleboard bunting is wrapped with raffia string and secured onto the strings are large glass beads of the type called “pony beads” by Native Americans. The blanket has Native American design elements for motif. The only visible portion of the cradleboard is the bent willow arch that was designed to hang up the cradleboard and baby. This collector's item is an original, unisex baby/ toddler doll, with eyes painted to the right and the entire presentation is made of either a composition or celluloid face, willow wood arc, glass beads, and cloth for the doll torso, shirt and blanket.
