Description: Here is a very rare clear glass advertising paperweight for " Royal Glass " . It reads in full, " The Royal Glass Co./ Marietta , O./ Manufactur's Table Ware ". This would be from around 1898. The factory was built in 1898 and burned down on Thanksgiving Day 1903 according to an interview with Dr. James Meassell by Kate York for the Marietta Times which is now on the internet. There is also an example of a very similar paperweight on the internet but it is stippled where mine is not. I have never seen another one in over 50 years of antique hunting. It measures approx. 3 inches wide on flat bottom. It unfortunately has about a 7/16 inch wide chipped glass ding on left front side. See photos. Its rarity allows for a bit of wear. Please see ALL enlarged photos for best idea of condition of the item as these are a part of the description. Email with any questions or concerns before bidding please.
