Rare 60s Italian Art Deco Ceramic Black PIERROT Table Lamp & Blown Glass Globe

Description: Beautiful and poetic PIERROT clown-shaped ceramic plaster lamp produced in Italy in the 1960s, most likely by a factory in the Bassano area, famous for its ceramics. This hand-painted black Pierrot with silver buttons and a small black hat is depicted sitting, cross-legged, holding a hand-blown opaline glass globe in his lap to representing the moon; we find in this lamp all the characteristics of the iconography of the French Pierrot, the melancholic mime with a face painted white in love with the moon, the one who appears with the name Gilles in the famous painting by Antoine Watteau. In good vintage condition, working and with normal traces of age and wear over the years. A lovely theater lamp, perfect for bohemian, art deco style decorations or simply on the bedside table next to the bed. Questo Pierrot dipinto a mano di colore nero con bottoni argentati e un piccolo cappello nero, è raffigurato seduto, a gambe incrociate, che tiene in grembo un globo di vetro opalino soffiato a mano a rappresentare la luna; ritroviamo in questa lampada tutte le caratteristiche dell'iconografia del Pierrot francese, il malinconico mimo dal volto dipinto di bianco innamorato della luna, colui che appare con il nome di Gilles nel celebre dipinto di Antoine Watteau. In buone condizioni vintage, funzionante e con normali tracce dell'età e dell'usura del corso degli anni.
