RARE, 1972 WIND UP SUPERMAN MODEL KIT - AOSHIMA of JAPAN

Description: Greetings, For sale; a very rare Superman model kit. This kit was made by Aoshima of Japan in 1972. The box art and kit face favor George Reeves, who portrayed Superman from 1952-1958. This is a rarely seen complete and working, wind-up model. (the ELAPHANT in the room... his feet, perhaps one of the reasons it's rarely seen - quite an unusual design, but they provide good balance :) When wound up, and switched on (lever on upper pack), this Superman will slowly walk forward with moving arms. He is wearing his original plastic cape with original red string. This amazing kit also includes a pulley set that will attach to his back to allow for play (or display, nowadays). Included with this model is what remains of the box, which suffered a rough life before arriving at my home years ago. The top is mostly intact and shows some amazing Japanese hero art. Included as well is the original art card showing other Superman kits in the Aoshima series. From the pieces, the box side / end art shows other kit examples of Japanese hero's from that time.
